Anita Laurence exhibition – ‘Middle Ground’
From the 5th of April until the 6th May 2019 a series of 11 paintings by professional King Valley artist Anita Laurence will be on display at off centre gallery + studio in Anita’s recent exhibition titled ‘Middle Ground’. Image: ‘Crepe Myrtle – Dusty Pink’ 2019 acrylic on cotton 56x75cms ‘Middle Ground’ is a colourful group of exceptional, rare paintings by Anita created on linen and cotton canvass and framed in locally sourced and milled Red Stringy Bark timber (frames are hand-crafted by Anita’s husband Bill Young). These new paintings are an important adjunct to the artist’s large body of exceptional lino-prints, etchings, and lithographs and other works on paper that she is well known and highly regarded for. Off Centre Gallery is proud to represent Anita in the north-east region of Victoria and we are thrilled to present this exceptional body of new works that were created during the extreme and arduous conditions of the local December/January/February summer heatwave. Feasting At The Winter Table
To participate in The King Valley & Milawa Gourmet Region festivities on Queen’s Birthday Weekend ‘off centre gallery’ presents ceramic artist Katherine Mahoney’s stunning works in her exhibition ‘Feasting At The Winter Table’. On Sat 9 June a unique ‘Meet The Artist Day’ with Katherine will be held in the gallery from 11am until 4pm when everyone is welcome to come along to meet Katherine, ask questions and discuss her ceramic art practice. In addition selected Wood Park wines will be served on the day. As a weekend special offer The Milawa Cheese Co will make up a small selection of their cheeses on beautiful ceramic plates handmade by Katherine & The Milawa Kitchen will present a delicious Macaron on a mini-plate with their renowned coffee in a ceramic beaker – both created by Katherine.
